Design International:
Espace Urbain

Montreal, Canada
20008

Between April and May 2008 we were invited by the Université du Quebec à Montreal, UQAM, to take part in the international spring cycle, event which groups anually teachers and professionals from the areas of Architecture and Design. Within the framework of the cycle, we presented a conference on our professional work and created a project for the Expo 1967 site, project that had the collaboration of professor Roberto Zancan and was enrolled by twenty students of Design de l'Environenment. Our proposal emerged from the symbolic idea of reconstructing the site from the traces of its most significant historic event, bringing new spatiality and uses to it. Concretely, we proposed the recovery of the existing foundations of the original occupation (some of them visible), where the old country pavilions were located, to orient a new occupation starting from the same spatial marks.
